Orius laevigatus

It is used to combat thrips.

Orius laevigatus is a predator insect belonging to the Anthocoridae family. It is used to combat thrips. If there are no thrips, they also feed on aphids, red spiders, whiteflies, lepidopter eggs (such as greenworm, tomato moth). Since Orius is also fed with pollen, its population increases very rapidly in vegetable products containing pollen. Since it has a stinging-sucking mouth structure, it feeds by sucking the juice of its prey. O. laevigatus can eat about 20 thrips per day.

Used products

It can be used in sweet pepper, strawberry, watermelon, melon, eggplant and some ornamental plants. It is not used in tomatoes.

Before opening the bottle, hold it horizontally and shake it gently. Sprinkle evenly on the plants. If release boxes are to be used to transfer the predator to the product, these boxes are hung on the plant in such a way that they do not receive direct sunlight, at the middle height of the plant.

The application should be done early in the morning or in the evening when there is no bright sunlight.

Doing the total amount of Orius to be released several times a week will give better results.

After the bottle is received, it should be released as quickly as possible.

If necessary, the bottle can be stored horizontally for 1 day.
